In this episode of PodSquad, Tyler Vu, a computer science major at Princeton University shared his different perspective on AI.
Tyler Vu shares his point of view on AI applications in human daily life with Zcast.vn. He had a podcast talk on his last day of internship in Vietnam. In the summer of 2023, he took his Computer Science internship program with ABROADER in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. As a computer science enthusiast, Tyler challenges the conventional notions surrounding IT persons, emphasizing that they are not inherently anti-social.
Growing up in an era where movies like Terminator and Iron Man shaped his first visions of AI, Tyler recognizes the impact of media on our perception of artificial intelligence. Besides, Tyler also draws parallels between these cinematic influences and the reality of AI today.
AI Application in Tyler Vu’s Education
At Princeton University, he shared an intriguing example of incorporating AI, mentioning a fellow student who used DALL-E to create AI-generated images for a Christianity class project. However, using AI in paperwork can violate students’ Honor Code at Princeton University.
When it comes to personal projects and job applications, Tyler Vu utilizes AI to enhance efficiency. From crafting cover letters to optimizing job searches, AI plays a supportive role in his computer science endeavors.
Speaking about Chat GPT, Tyler shares a fascinating tidbit—that the “T” stands for Transformer. This means that AI would be more prevalent in the daily lives of people and make their lives better every day.
AI Application in Future Job
Looking ahead, Tyler envisions a future where humans use AI as a tool to support them rather than becoming dependent on it. He believes that, despite AI’s capabilities, creativity remains a realm where human ingenuity prevails. “Creativity is something AI finds hard to replicate,” he asserts.
All in all, it is an interesting point of view from Tyler on the intersection of AI and human existence. It promotes a balanced approach to AI and showcases the exciting intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence.
In the last two months, Tyler’s computer science internship with ABROADER has provided him the opportunity to work in an amazing team to adapt his practical learning on AI in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
